This album includes a bonus joke-track entitled "Quixote". It is Part 1 of a 2-part song. Part 1 is written in humor, and Part 2 (written in melancholy) will be featured on the next album.
As you may or may not know, this particular album was originally supposed to be released in the middle of this past May. However, due to a decent number of circumstances that seemed to topple over one another, the production and release date were postponed to mid-July. As such, I decided it would be in my best interest to promote myself via Kickstarter (lovely company), and with the money I would raise I could have the album professionally engineered. However, the Kickstarter campaign, after 30 days online, failed by $300. Since I didn’t make my financial goal, I was obligated (thanks to Kickstarter’s rules and regulations) to give back every single penny that u9had been donated to me through the website. That’s right: if you’re one of the amazing people who donated money to me online, I didn’t receive a cent of it.
This promotion failure meant several things for me: I couldn’t have the album engineered by someone else and ergo would have to produce it myself, but it also meant I couldn’t hire other musicians to collaborate with, so I would be doing all the instrumentation myself as well. This meant I had to push back the release date yet again.
So here we are in the earliest, freshest days of October, and my music is finally being brought to life. Granted, it isn’t nearly what I had dreamed it would be, but I do tend to dream too big sometimes. The reality is that I did what I could with the limited funds I had, and the very limited equipment I had.
I feel as though I’ve been through hell and back with this album, and I’m thankful for supporters like you, because you’re the reason I continue to make music. This album, in all of its rough unprofessional-ness, with all of its songs of heartache and laughter, is for you.
Yours always,
Amylia

Trumpet: Tara Benner
Lyrics Co-Writer for "Quixote": Breonna Jefferson
I had two very special volunteers make their mark on this album, and for them I have sincerest gratitude. Namely, “Dallas” features my roommate and friend Tara Benner on the trumpet, and the lyrics of “Quixote” were co-written with one of my dearest friends Breonna Jefferson. Breonna’s poetic talent has saved me several times when I couldn’t find the right lyrics for a song, and here she has jumped in again at the very last minute to help me create something comical and light-hearted.
